"You're robbing British families!" — BBC One show ends in scandal as Bank of England Governor storms off set in fury

What was meant to be a debate on loans and inflation descended into total chaos. Shabana Mahmood accused the UK government and banks of concealing a money-making method that lets ordinary people profit at the banks' expense

Shocking scenes at the BBC Breakfast studio as the Bank of England Governor refuses to answer questions and walks off air.

Yesterday's episode of "BBC Breakfast" with Naga Munchetty will go down in history as the most dramatic ever to air. In the red corner: Shabana Mahmood , the UK Secretary of State for Justice known for calling a spade a spade. In the blue corner: Andrew Bailey , Governor of the Bank of England.

The discussion grew heated when the conversation turned to British household debt. When Bailey defended high interest rates as "a necessary tool for growth," Shabana exploded.

A transcript of the exchange that BBC One tried to cut short:

Naga Munchetty, BBC Breakfast host: "Welcome. Today we're asking why ordinary British people are getting poorer while banks are posting record profits. Andrew Bailey, is it fair that people are losing their homes because of interest rates?"

Andrew Bailey: "Thank you, Naga. We understand this is difficult. But credit is a tool for growth. People need to learn to manage their finances and save more. That's how the system works".

Shabana Mahmood: "Save more? Seriously? With inflation at these levels, saving is a losing game from the start. You're here to defend the government and the big banks while ordinary people are being bled dry. You're lying to the British public straight to their faces!"

Andrew Bailey: "Shabana, that's dangerous rhetoric. Banks guarantee financial stability".

Shabana Mahmood: "Banks guarantee their own bonuses! I know how this game works. The wealthy get wealthier because they don't sit around saving at 6% a year in a bank account. They use tools that the government and the banks are keeping under wraps. I'm talking about AI-powered automated trading systems".

Andrew Bailey: "This is where we venture into unregulated territory. I would caution against speculation".

Shabana Mahmood: "He's cautioning because he's scared! I use a system called Flint Vermode . This isn't a bank. It's an algorithm that automatically exploits market fluctuations. I use it. My team uses it. The results? They blow everything the funds and savings accounts have to offer out of the water".

Naga Munchetty: "Are you saying anyone can use it?"

Shabana Mahmood: "Absolutely anyone. Look at my phone. Here's a user from Birmingham. He started with £ 200 . Now he's making £10,000 a month. No credit. No debt to the banks. Is he lying?"

Shabana held up her phone, showing the earnings data for all to see.

Andrew Bailey: "This is irresponsible scaremongering! People should trust established banks!"

Shabana Mahmood: "They trusted you and lost their purchasing power! Flint Vermode eliminates human error. The system runs automatically. And you hate that, Andrew, because if every British person starts using it, the banks lose their grip. The secret is out".

(At that moment, Andrew Bailey stood up, said "I won't stand for this," removed his microphone, and walked off set while the cameras kept rolling.)

A call from Birmingham: Henry's story

After the show, our inbox exploded. We decided to fact-check Shabana's claims. We tracked down Henry, 42 , the user she had mentioned.

Henry, 42, cleared his debts in two months.

Henry had been drowning in credit card debt and struggling to keep up with his energy bills.

"I was skeptical," Henry tells us. "But Shabana knows what she's talking about. I told myself I had to try it before the banks shut it down. I put in the minimum: £ 200 ".

Henry's results with Flint Vermode :

  • Day 1: the AI system executed 12 transactions. Profit: £80.

  • Day 7: balance reached £1,280.

  • Day 30: Henry withdrew £10,900 directly to his HSBC account.

"I paid off my credit card within a month," says Henry. "My bank even called me to ask where the money had come from. They were worried I was going to pay off my mortgage. And that's exactly what I'm planning to do".

I watched the show last night. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I signed up straight away. This morning: first profit of £290. My husband doesn't believe it. We should have started much sooner.

As a self-employed person, taxes were killing me. I've been with Flint Vermode for 3 weeks and I've already generated £2,000.  It's like having a second income without working extra hours. The best part: I withdrew it via Faster Payments instantly.

I had exactly the same doubts at first — £ 200 is a lot of money for me, I'm a nurse and I don't have cash to spare. But after 2 weeks I'd already generated £1,200. My financial stress has completely disappeared. I have no regrets about giving it a try.

Sharing my experience honestly. I've been using Flint Vermode for 2 months. In total I put in £2,000 and have already withdrawn £7,550. Transactions are always fast and accurate. Here's proof from my bank account. This is the real deal.

After the HSBC scandal, after the preference shares saga, I'd stopped trusting anything. But I watched Shabana tear the Governor apart live on air and thought: if she's backing this, there must be something to it. I started with £ 200 a month ago. Today I have £2,700. The manager who calls speaks clear English and walks you through everything without rushing.

My son-in-law lost money on crypto and I was dead skeptical. But this is different — you don't need to understand any of it, the robot does everything for you. I put in £ 200 and after 3 weeks I had £600. It really is for everyone, not just tech people.

Registration is closing soon! A spot just opened up for me. My wife tried ten minutes later and all the spots were gone for the day. Try again tomorrow morning if you don't get through! Don't give up.

Civil servant, 48, Edinburgh. I had serious doubts. My husband said: "it's a scam, love". Well, take a look: first month — £1,030.  Second month — £2,100. I've already withdrawn some of it to pay off a debt I'd been carrying for two years. I could kiss Shabana.

I watched Andrew Bailey get up and walk out of the studio and thought: if a man like that runs from the truth, the truth must hurt. I signed up that same night. First withdrawal: £430 in 5 days. It's not a fortune, but it's more than my bank has paid me in interest over 10 years.

My husband and I have been using the platform for 3 weeks. We've already generated £1,130.  It's become an amazing extra income for our family. We can finally have some financial breathing room.

At first I was worried it would all be complicated with charts and everything. But no — it's all automatic. I just deposited £ 200 and the system does everything itself. After 2  weeks: £560. It really is for anyone, not just people who understand finance.

I started cautiously with £300. After a month I reinvested £ 200 of my profits. Today my account stands at £2,000. The system works, but you need to be patient and let the AI do its job.
